The Sacramento Clean Cities Coalition, in partnership with Roseville Toyota and John L. Sullivan Chevrolet hosted a Light Duty ZEV Showcase, Infrastructure Workshop, and Ride & Drive on Thursday, February 9th. It focused on 2017 zero-emission vehicles that are available through the Sullivan Auto Group's Chevy and Toyota Dealerships: The fuel cell Toyota Mirai with 300 zero-emission miles, the brand-new plug in Toyota Prius Prime, the Chevy Volt, and the Chevy Bolt with an EPA rated 238 zero-emission miles.
There were four incredibly talented speakers who were apart of the event, all highlighting different information regarding the many aspects of EVs. Judy Cunningham, the Prius and Mirai representative and Internet and Fleet Manager at Roseville Toyota, gave the technology presentation for the Prius Prime and Toyota Mirai. Heath Carney, the Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Director at John L. Sullivan, gave the technology presentation for the Chevy Volt and Chevy Bolt.
Guy Hall, Past- president of SacEV, followed these two with information about EV Infrastructure and Funding. Then Chris White, Communications Director at the California Fuel Cell Partnership, gave a compelling, informative speech about hydrogen infrastructure and funding.
The event wrapped up with a fully biodegradable lunch provided by O’Sully’s Café on site, while Guy Hall gave a second presentation on the advancements the world is seeing on the autonomous driving phenomena!
The president of Sacramento Clean Cities, Keith Leech, was also at the scene introducing the presenters, as well as the VP, Tim Taylor. Mr. Taylor gave a short announcement about Nikola Motors and their planned hydrogen fueling sites, and the audience was even introduced to Mr. John L. Sullivan himself, who talked about the many energy saving upgrades that are being put in place at his dealerships, and the pride that he has being able to offer a great lineup of zero-emission vehicles! Following the presentations and the lunch, the Sullivan Auto Group hosted a Ride and Drive of the zero-emission vehicles.
Overall, the event turned out to be a great success. The coalition looks forward to working with Roseville Toyota and John L. Sullivan again to promote the future that is Zero Emissions Vehicles!
